Everything you can do from your phone — connecting to your company’s site, activating your account, clocking in and out, taking leave, approving requests, and raising an emergency alert.
The app is issued by your employer. Your HR or admin team creates your employee record first — you finish the set-up on your own phone.

What you need
Item
Detail
A supported phone
Android 8.0 or newer, or iPhone/iPad on iOS 15 or newer. The app is portrait-only on phones.
Your company’s server
A QR code or web address from your HR team. The app is not tied to one company — it must be pointed at yours.
Your username
Usually your work email. Your HR team issues it with a temporary password.
Your own device
Your account binds to one phone. Use the phone you will carry to work every day.
An internet connection
Mobile data or Wi-Fi. The app shows an offline banner and stops syncing when connection drops.
Bring your ID
Activation includes an identity check that scans a government ID and takes a selfie. Have your IC, passport or driving licence with you before you start.
Permissions the app asks for
Each prompt appears the first time a feature needs it, never all at once. You can change them later in your phone’s Settings, but features that depend on them will stop working.
Permission
Why it is needed
If you decline
Camera
Scanning server QR, clock-in challenge QR, and your ID during activation.
Must type server address by hand; QR clock-in unavailable.
Location
Confirming you are at your work location when clocking in, and sharing position during an SOS.
Clock-in may be blocked or flagged, depending on policy.
Location “Always”
Noticing when you leave and return to work area while clocked in, so away-time is deducted.
Away-from-office time is not measured; hours may not match company rules.
Bluetooth
Detecting workplace iBeacons where your company uses them.
Beacon clock-in will not work; GPS is used instead if enabled.
Notifications
Approval outcomes, clock-out reminders and SOS alerts.
Will miss time-sensitive alerts, including emergency department broadcasts.
Microphone
Reserved for emergency audio features in the SOS flow.
SOS still works; audio recording feature does not.
02Installation
Install the app
Search the store for Pulsecentra HR, or scan the QR code. The publisher is Pulsecentra and the package is my.pulsecentra.hr.
Android — Google Play
Open the Play Store
Search Pulsecentra HR or use the store shortcut on this page.
Check the publisher
Confirm it reads Pulsecentra before installing. Decline look-alikes.
Tap Install
About 80 MB. Wi-Fi is recommended.
Open the app
A round gold Pulsecentra coin icon on a dark background.
iPhone & iPad — App Store
Open the App Store
Point Camera app at the QR code, then tap the banner link.
Tap Get
Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or Apple ID password.
Allow notifications
Tap Allow when asked, so approvals and SOS alerts reach you.
Open the app
Supports iPad, though layout is engineered for phones.
Company devices
If your employer manages your phone via MDM, the app may already be installed and the server address pre-filled. Skip to Sign in.
03Set-up
Connect to your organisation
A fresh install does not know which company you work for. The first screen after welcome asks for your organisation’s server — the site your HR team runs.
9:41●●● ⏹ ■
Connect to your organisation
Find your site
Point your camera at the code
Scan the server QR code
Enter URL manually
Server address
The Connect to server screen. Scanning is the reliable route; manual field is fallback.
Scan the server QR code
Tap Scan the server QR code and allow camera access. Your HR team can display this code, print it on your welcome sheet, or email it. The app fills in the address and connects.
Or enter the URL manually
Tap Enter URL manually and type the web address your HR team gave you, for example hr.yourcompany.com. Then tap Connect.
“That doesn’t look like a Pulsecentra HR server”
The address answered, but is not a Pulsecentra site — usually a typo, a missing subdomain, or company public website instead of HR site. Re-check the address with HR.
Branded sign-in
Some companies use a branded link that carries the organisation with it. Scanning that code pre-selects your company, and sign-in displays your employer’s logo.
04Set-up
Sign in
Once the app knows your organisation, sign in with the username and temporary password your HR team issued.
The Sign in screen. SHOW reveals the password if you need to check a typo.
Enter your username or email
Whatever your HR team issued — most often your work email address.
Enter your password
The temporary password on first sign-in. You will replace it during activation.
Tap Sign in
If your account spans multiple companies, pick the organisation you are signing in to.
“Already signed in”
Your account may be active on one mobile device at a time. Signing in elsewhere shows Continue on this device? — You’re already signed in on another mobile device.

Step 4 — Secure+. The exact device being registered is shown before you commit.
The four steps
1. Verify your identity
Tap Start verification. Scan your ID document and take a selfie. The name on your ID must match your employee record. On success: Identity Verified!
2. Set your password
Choose a password to replace temporary one, then confirm it. This is what you use to sign in from now on.
3. Set a 6-digit PIN
Enter a PIN on the keypad, then repeat it. The PIN unlocks the app and protects sensitive screens such as compensation.
4. Set up Secure+ and bind this device
Screen lists Device Name, Model and Serial Number. Tap Bind this device & finish. Your account is tied to this phone.

Method
What must be true to clock in
Geolocation + iBeacon Dual verification
Either workplace beacon is detected, or you are inside office radius. Matched beacon satisfies rule outright.
Geolocation Only GPS validation
GPS position is within office radius. Card shows distance so you know how far off you are.
iBeacon Only Bluetooth validation
Phone detects one of the iBeacons installed at workplace. Bluetooth must be turned on.
No Validation Open policy
No location check — clock in from anywhere.

4. Confirm punch

Out of office
If your company allows out-of-office clock-in, punch is accepted but flagged for manager. If blocked, submit an Onsite Request in advance.

18Help & Diagnostics
Troubleshooting Matrix
Common real-world symptoms and verified resolutions. Items marked HR or IT require corporate admin intervention.
Symptom
Root Cause
Resolution
“That doesn’t look like a Pulsecentra HR server”
Wrong or mistyped URL, or corporate website used instead of HR portal.
Re-scan the server QR code, or confirm the exact address with HR.
“Already bound to another device”
Outdated app version or stale cache token.
Update app from store. If persistent, request IT to release device binding.
Clock In button is greyed out
Phone is outside office radius and policy prohibits offsite punches.
Move within office range, or submit an Onsite Request in advance.
“Location rule not set up”
No attendance shift policy assigned to employee.
HR admin must assign an attendance policy in the master console.
Beacon never matches
Bluetooth off or out of hardware signal range.
Turn Bluetooth on and grant permission. If failing, notify HR/IT of beacon ID.
GPS stuck on “Loading GPS position”
Location permission denied or shielded interior concrete structure.
Grant Precise Location in OS settings; step near window or exterior door.
Identity verification blocked
Name or ID number mismatch against HR record, or glare on card scan.
Retry in bright natural light. If repeating, ask HR to verify spelling in record.
“Leave isn’t available”
Entitlements not assigned yet for new joiner.
HR assigns entitlements; balances are prorated from hire date.
Offline banner won’t clear
No connectivity to corporate server or internal VPN required.
Check 4G/5G data or office Wi-Fi. Verify if company firewall blocks port.
Changed to a new phone
Account still bound to previous physical handset.
Request IT/HR to release binding; re-bind during sign-in on new phone.
